The Season of Giving Thanks

O give thanks unto the LORD; for he is good: for his mercy endureth for ever.
Psalms 106:1

Are we really grateful for the good already received? Then we shall avail ourselves of the blessings we have, and thus be fitted to receive more. Gratitude is much more than a verbal expression of thanks. Action expresses more gratitude than speech.”
(Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy)

Each year Christian Scientists gather on Thanksgiving Day to be grateful for the good we have received. In this special Thanksgiving Day Service, we sing, listen to a short Bible Lesson, and share with each other expressions of gratitude!

You can actually begin to prepare for this spiritual feast right now! Read the special Bible Lesson that we will listen to together here: https://quarterly.christianscience.com/thanksgiving

This year our church will have this service online via zoom so you can connect from wherever you are in your travels. Just email us at secondchurchchicago@gmail.com to receive the zoom link and phone connection information. Welcome!
